Mrs. Wynella, having fought the good fight, is now at rest. Her recent infirmities were too much for her heart to sustain.
A graduate of Tift College, she was an educator by profession. She taught for many years in the Bibb and Monroe County School Systems, finally retiring from the Monroe County Board of Education.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth, Faith/ Joy Sunday School Class, Merry Hearts Club, Monroe County Historical Society, U.D.C. and Olde Order of Tift College Alumnae Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Arde Wynne, Sr. and Winnie Jane King; husband, Dean Gipson Martin; children, Stephen Earl Martin and Kyle Owen Martin; sister, Margie Wynne Elkin; brothers, Jack Wynne and David Walton Wynne.
She is survived by her sons, Neil Arde Martin and Darryl Ian Martin (Veronica); daughter-in-law, Kathryn Martin; brother, Michael King Wynne (My-Anh); grandchildren, Stephanie Martin, Natalie Gregory (David), Amy Bell, Russell Martin (Julia), Dustin Martin (Amber), Rachel Gallagher (Thomas) Ben Anderegg, Joe Lopez, Ariel Hollowood (Chris), Inde Desherlia (Luke), several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Forsyth from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. At this time there will be a Memorial Service officiated by Dr. Hambric Brooks. Interment will be private. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall for family members. Please dress casually for the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 W Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
