Velma Parrish Parker

Velma Grace Parrish Parker passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Forsyth with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m.  Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. Burial will follow in Pinetta Baptist Church Cemetery, 394 Pinetta Road, Ocilla, GA 31774.

Velma, the daughter of the late Frank Huthbert Parrish and Leila Belle Harrelson Parrish was born September 6, 1940, in Ocilla, Georgia.  She retired from the Lamar County Board of Education as a first grade teacher and was a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth.

Survivors include her children, Al Parker (Marla) of Lawrenceville and Andy Parker (Michelle) of Forsyth; sisters, Anne Harrelson (Tommy) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Doris Kasun (Jack) of Savannah; and four grandchildren.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
