Van J. Owens

Van J. Owens, 79, of Culloden passed away Tuesday April 22, 2025. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia, burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia, with the Reverend Mark Goolsby officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Van was born October 3, 1945, in Eastman Georgia, to the late Fed Owens and Mary Evans Owens. Van worked for thirty-eight years at Robins Air Force Base, where he was respected for his work ethic and friendly nature. Van enjoyed deer hunting, working in the yard, and spending time at deer camp fellowshipping with others. While not outside he enjoyed relaxing at home watching westerns.

Van is survived by his wife of forty years, Kathy Owens, of Culloden; son Jeff Owens (Lisa) of Byron; daughters Angel Jackson (Mike) of Macon and Wendy Veal (Daryl) of Forsyth; grandchildren, Cassie Young (Wes) of Macon, Zayne Jackson (Elizabeth)of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Maddy Veal of Forsyth; great grandchild, Thalia Rogers of Macon; brother Buck Owens (Jane), Milan; and many friends.
