Tina Kight Harper passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Scott Harrell and Rev. Mark Goolsby will officiate. Masks and social distancing are mandatory for all who attend the graveside service. Due to COVID-19 there will not be a formal visitation.
Tina, the daughter of the late Bill and Gertrude Prather Kight, was born November 15, 1951 in Kite, Georgia. She attended Montgomery County High School where she graduated in 1969. Her ambition was to become a school teacher. She attended and graduated from Tift College in 1975. While at Tift she met her husband, Wayne. They settled in Forsyth where Tina spent her entire teaching career in the Monroe County school system. She was a dedicated member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where she loved to share God’s love with the children. While Tina never had any children of her own, she touched the lives and hearts of countless children.
Tina is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne Harper. Survivors also include her sisters in law, Anita Wyatt and Janice Rogers (Steve); nieces and nephews, Stephen Wyatt (Kim), Heather Smith (Justin), Michelle Edwards, Justin Rogers (Brittany), Linda Fortner, Buddy Adams (Lydia), Wanda Paulk, Ben Adams, and Aaron Adams (Amy).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 225 Rocky Creek Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
