Thomas Alvin “Sonny” Marsh, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, in Carrollton, Georgia at the age of 87. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens, US Hwy 41, Forsyth, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s Church or favorite charity.
Son of the late Thomas Benjamin Marsh and Sudie Mason Marsh, Sonny was born June 29, 1936, in Juliette, Georgia. He was a graduate of Mary Persons High School and a dedicated veteran of the U.S. Army.
Sonny was a man who dedicated himself to his work and community with unwavering commitment. His involvement with Glenloch Baptist Church in Carrollton was a testament to his faith and spirit of service. He was a workaholic, both professionally and personally, always channeling his energy into his many passions.
He will be remembered for his love of sports, having been inducted into the Georgia Sports Football Hall of Fame—an honor that spoke volumes about his talent and dedication. Above all, Sonny cherished the time spent with his family. He took immense pride in his grandson and the life he built.
Sonny will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Billie Neely Marsh; daughters, Angie Marsh and Dana Marsh; grandson, Ethan Marsh; brother, Edward Marsh; and sisters, Delores Cochran and Martha Sapp.
