Sylvia Richardson Stapleton, 78, of Juliette, Georgia, passed away on April 5, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Nolan Stapleton Sr., and is survived by her children, William N. Stapleton Jr. (Jill) of Forsyth, Georgia, and Max Stapleton of Macon, Georgia, and by her two granddaughters, Sydney and Emerson Stapleton.
Born to the late John David Richardson and Martha Tribble Richardson, she was raised in central Georgia, where in 1963, she graduated from Miller-Lanier High School and later attended the University of Georgia. In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Gardiner.
Among Sylvia's most significant accomplishments were her return to higher education while still raising her family, earning her Master's Degree from Mercer University Medical School, and teaching adjunct classes at Gordon College. Following her beloved husband's death and her retirement from a fulfilling career in therapy, she delighted in sharing in the lives of her family and her house full of animals.
Sylvia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a lifelong friend to many, a beloved therapist, and a faithful servant of God. Her family will celebrate her life with a graveside memorial on Saturday April 13th 2024 at 3:00pm at the Forsyth City Cemetery, Forsyth, Ga.
Sylvia had chosen to become an eye tissue donor and strongly believed in the mission of tissue donation.
