Sue Greene Benson

Kathryn Sue Greene Benson passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ricky Niblett will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Sue, the daughter of the late Oliver Greene, Sr. and Lois Johnson Greene was born February 26, 1937, in Jones County, Georgia. Her husband, Harold Miles “Chickadee” Benson, her brothers, Walter Greene and Oliver Green, Jr. preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Middle Georgia State and was a retired lab technician. Sue was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include her children, Jim Benson (Lisa) and Jerri Allyson Benson; grandchildren, Jim Benson, Jr. and Miles Benson; nephew, Tommy Greene (Amy) all of Forsyth; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Ga 31201. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
