Stephen Eubanks Roberts, Sr.

Stephen Eubanks Roberts, Sr. passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private. Rev. Dee Martin will officiate. The family will greet friends the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Stephen, the son of the late Willie Dorman Roberts and Fannie Frances Fish Roberts was born December 4, 1959, in Waycross, Georgia. Stephen retired after thirty four years of service with the GA Department of Corrections. He began his career as a correctional officer and rose through the ranks to Warden. His last assignment before retirement was with the Transportation Unit. He was a member of the GA Warden’s Prison Association, an avid GA Bulldog fan, loved cooking and camping. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Roberts of Forsyth; children, Tashira Decker (Graig) of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Jessica Roberts (Chelsea) of Waycross and Stephen Eubanks Roberts, Jr. (Rachel) of Bloomingdale; sister, Peggy Barton (Drew) of Blackshear; grandchildren, Jaida Roberts, Grady Roberts, Mia Roberts and Avery Decker. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
