A sweet angel, Sharon Marie Daugherty, arrived in Heaven on March 7, 2025. She was 84 years young.
Sharon was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin, on November 19, 1940, to Olin and Edith Hake. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Chauncey (Mark) of Janesville, Wisconsin; her sons, Tim Pope (Lori) of Fancy Farm, Kentucky, Phil Pope of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Tony Scott of Venice, Florida; many grandchildren, including Ginger Hudson, and Kaij Scott; her cousin, Calene Deiler; and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Daugherty; her son, Jim; her daughter, Linda; and her daughter-in-law, Tami.
Sharon was a sweet, loving, and giving person. She always thought of others before herself. She loved to collect angels, antiques, chicken and flamingo home decor. Sharon loved to work in her garden, spending a lot of her time making it beautiful. Because of her compassion for people, she studied and became a licensed minister. She also became a pastor’s wife and used her position to help those in her church and community. Sharon was not afraid of any challenges and always saw opportunities to lean on the Lord and learn something new. She also loved walking on the beaches in Florida. The sun’s golden rays that glistened on the water reminded her of walking on the streets of gold. Her goal in life was to make Heaven her eternal home, and on Friday, March 7, 2025, her desire became her reality.
The family wishes to thank Jimmy Chapman of Forsyth, her handyman, who she adopted as her son; her best friend, Mary Jane; her stepdaughter, Laura; her stepson, Van; her special, sweet nurse, Crystal, and all the staff at Monroe County Hospital; her doctors, Dr. Wesley Ridley, Dr. Robert Pye, and Tammy Barnett, N.P.; and Katrice Jones and the staff at Heartland Hospice.
