Sandra Speir Brinkley

Sandra Speir Brinkley of Forsyth, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, surrounded by her family.  A visitation will be held at Monroe County Memorial Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday July 9, 2022, with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Forsyth City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Goolsby will officiate.

Sandra was born on January 30, 1946, to the late Walter and Mamie Speir.  She graduated from Mary Persons High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and three sisters; Lucille Williams, Juanita Warren and Mary Ellen Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald Brinkley, her daughter and son-in-law; Lee and Daphne Perkins, Grandson; Colton Perkins, Grand dogs: CC and Riley, Sister, Charlotte Spear of Gray, Georgia and a brother; Sidney (Cornelia) Speir of Forsyth, Georgia; and nephew Frankie Williams of Juliette, Georgia  and many other nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed watching Colton play baseball. “Allmama” attended every one of his games.  She was his biggest fan on and off of the field.  She wore the title of “Allmama” with more pride than anyone could imagine.  When not at sporting events, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, and working in her yard.

Sandra was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member of the Prime Time Sunday School Class.  She served on many committees at the church during her membership.

She began her career working at Coke’s Camera in Macon, Georgia and then at Trammell’s Furniture in Forsyth, Georgia.  She later began a long career working with Janice Rogers and Tom Perry at Dr. Perry’s office in Forsyth, Georgia.

We would like to thank all of her caregivers.  They were outstanding and gave her *5 star* care.
