He served in the Army and went on to work at Georgia Power until retirement. He worked at several plants around the Middle Georgia area before putting his roots down at Plant Scherer in Juliette, Georgia.

Ronald or “Mr. Ron” as most would call him had a servant’s heart. He loved to volunteer and to help other people. He volunteered at the Circle of Care for many years. He was also devoted to volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program at the First Baptist Church. He also volunteered his time helping with anything that needed to be done with the preschool program and afterschool program at the church.

Ronald was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and loved his Sunday School Class which was the “Prime Time Sunday School Class”. He also enjoyed attending church services at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Niblett.

He wore the title of “Andaddy” with more pride than anyone could imagine. He supported everything that his family was involved in. He recently became a great-grandfather which thrilled his soul.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Speir Brinkley, in 2022; brother, Cullen Brinkley, and sister-in-law, Rose Colvin Brinkley.

Ronald is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lee and Daphne Perkins; grandchild, Colton and Mary Kate Perkins; Great-Grandchild, Parker Banks Perkins; nephew, Frankie Williams.
