While some of his friends referred to Richard as the "General", growing up his family called him "Stump". Once his mind was made up, he could not be moved! To his beloved wife, he is "Darling". Some would call him the "frustrated engineer". He loved projects, especially building projects and canoeing down the river with his son and playing tennis. Richard loved a good find as a collector of antique tools. He built a barn to house a "few" of his treasures. He could be found helping his neighbors with their building or yard projects. Give the man a chainsaw and he was off! Richard rarely met a stranger and loved being among his many friends and neighbors.
