Richard Edward Monahan

Richard Edward Monahan of Jackson GA passed away on September 8, 2018. He was 62. He was born on March 13, 1956 to George Monahan and Jacquelin Harbaugh in Richmond VA.  Richard is survived by his wife, Anita Monahan, and two sons, Rick (Betsy) and Billy, which he was also being his longtime caregiver. And his only adorable granddaughter Maycee.  He also had three siblings, Mickey Monahan, Terri (Lora) Monahan and Theresa Kemper.  Richard served five years in the Army and was honorably discharged as SP5 2nd Armor Division. He spent many years in the restaurant industry. Most notably, ten of them at The Varsity Atlanta as the General Manager. He retired as a produce salesman from Phoenix Produce.  A memorial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements
