Richard Edward Evans

Richard “Rick” Edward Evans, 77, of Jackson, Georgia passed away at Navicent Health Center on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, Rick was born May 10, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama to Clementine Augusta and June Arnold Evans. Rick was preceded in death by his parents. Evans is survived by his three children: Blair (Dorcas) Evans of Cairo, Georgia; Jay (Wendy) Evans of Whigham, Georgia; and Kellie (Cliff) Dollar of Bainbridge, Georgia; plus his sister Carol Ann (Chris) Searles and her children. Evans also has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A few of Rick’s favorite things were his family (especially his grands), Alabama football, fishing (he always had a good fish tale), gardening, his dog, Quigley, Wednesday night supper at church, and Jesus. Rick retired from the retail business and served in the Vietnam War as an United States Air Force Pararescue. Services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, November 21, 2022, at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Jackson, Georgia. Pastor Scott Chewning will officiate. There will be a private Interment later at Providence Baptist Cemetery in Whigham, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to Grace Christian Academy, 1302 Lake Douglas Rd, Bainbridge, Georgia 39819 or Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 4334 High Falls Rd, Jackson, Georgia 30233.
