Rebecca Ham, 83, of Forsyth, died Saturday April 27, 2024. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday April 30, 2024, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens, U.S. Highway 41 N, Forsyth.
Rebecca Copelan Ham was born to Virginia Gatliff Copelan and E.G. Copelan in Monroe County on July 5, 1940. She graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1958. In October of 1959, she married the love of her life, John Richard Ham, Sr., and they went on to have four children, seven grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren John and Rebecca were blessed to have celebrated 63 years of marriage together. Rebecca had a passion for crocheting, cross-stitching, cooking, and canning, which she shared with family and friends. Her handiwork and canned goods can be found in the homes of many family members. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed.
Rebecca is survived by her sibling, Patrick Copelan; children, John Ham, Jr. (Joy), Doug Ham (Betsy), Rusty Ham, and Ginger Moore (Kin); grandchildren, Richard Ham, Daniel Ham (Misty), Kristen Aleena Bennett (Scott), Chad Moore (Katie), John Moore, Douglas “D.J.” Ham (Kirstie), Kelsey Phillips; and her twenty-three great-grandchildren. She will forever be in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Ham, Sr., her parents, E.G. Copelan, Sr., and Virginia G. Copelan; her siblings, E.G. Copelan, Jr., Raymund Copelan, and David Copeland.
