Ralph Charles Gore, Jr, (Pop), 68, passed away April 19, 2023. Pop was
born the second oldest of 5 children to the late Charles and Joyce Gore of
Forsyth, Georgia on January 7, 1955. Pop was a truck driver for over 35
years before retiring in 2013.
Pop was an avid collector of all things. He enjoyed Friday night auctions with his longtime friend, Robert Jackson. Pop never missed an opportunity
to help his family and friends whether it was with his opinion or advice. Pop would spend hours passing the time with his childhood friend, Perry
Shipp.
Pop enjoyed his daily coffee at the Waffle House. Pop never met a stranger
There was no place you couldn’t go with Pop that he didn’t know someone.
Pop had a sharp wit and a quick tongue. To know him was to love him.
Pop is survived by his siblings, Phylis Garner of Forsyth, Deborah
Ballinger, Jackson, Georgia, Sam (Lavaughn) Gore, Forsyth, and Brenda
(Chuck) Starnes of Musella, Georgia.
He leaves behind 3 children Amy Gore of Ocala, Florida, Ralph (Michelle)
Gore of Forsyth, Georgia, and Christopher (Angela) Gore of Jessup, Georgia.
7 grandchildren, Tyler Rodriguez and Emma Rodriguez of Ocala, Florida,
Steven (Ashley) Birdsong, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Cody Birdsong,
Vilseck, Germany, Sophia Reign, Lila Storm, and Micheal Sky, of Jessup,
Georgia. 1 great grandson, Hunter Birdsong, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and
a host of nieces and nephews.
Pop was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joyce Gore, and the
love of his life, Wanda Selman.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 1-3 pm at the
Monroe County Recreation Department, Pavilion 4, with a balloon release at
3 pm.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
