Phyllis French Watson passed away in her home on Juliette Road on April 2, 2025.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Renfroe; sons, Jon Dennis (Mary); David Harold (Julia); grandson Harper; sister Peggy Ann; brother Jon Randolf. Deceased members of her family include her parents, Curtis and Janet French; son Fredric William; and sister Judy.
As a Methodist Preacher’s wife, she lived throughout the northern half of Georgia and was known for her work with Cub Scouting, organizing several kindergartens, making worship banners and painting murals for church nurseries, serving as an officer in local and district WSCS and UMW groups She attended college in Dalton and Augusta and completed training at the Dalton School of Cosmetology and received a certificate of Graduation from the Barbizon School of Atlanta. Soon thereafter she completed training as an LPN at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. However, her greatest love was as a certified optometry technician, which she did for twenty years.
Final services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday April 10, 2025, at Forsyth Methodist Church, 68 West Johnson Street, Forsyth, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
