Peggy Lynn Hastings, age 67, of Forsyth, GA, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at Heritage Inn of Barnesville. She was born on September 7, 1956, in Macon, GA, to Binnie Laurene McAfee and Alfred Thomas Mixon.
Peggy was a compassionate and caring individual, known for her deep faith and love for animals. Despite becoming disabled in the early 1990s, Peggy dedicated her life to caring for all living creatures, considering each one a creation of God. She found joy in attending to animals and crocheting in her spare time.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Patrick Gibbs of Jesup, GA, and Fred Hastings of Forsyth, GA; her daughter, April Brunner of Barnesville, GA; her sister, Tammy Moser of Macon, GA; her nephews, Joseph Moser of Macon, GA, and Will Cravey of Milner, GA; her niece, Mandy Cravey of Jackson, GA; and many grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In addition to her family, Peggy was beloved by many friends and community members who will remember her kindness and dedication to helping others. Her favorite hymns were “Just as I Am” and “When We All Get to Heaven,” which brought her comfort and peace.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, followed by burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Reverend Mark Goolsby will officiate. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Peggy will be dearly missed and remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for animals, and her gentle spirit. May she rest in peace.
