Pauline Florence Vinson

Pauline Wood Vinson, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday October 18, 2024, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 225 Rocky Creek Rd., Forsyth Georgia, with the Reverend Nelson Grist officiating. Intermit will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church. 

Pauline was born on November 22, 1929, to the late Novie Thomas Wood and Veva Ayers Wood, in their home in Geneva County Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband William Edward Vinson Sr., son Gary Michael Vinson Sr., and her seven siblings. 

Pauline was a true servant of the Lord. Her deep faith in Jesus was evident in her life as she served her family, church, and community. She was one the first female deacons at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She was active in the WMA, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and participated in many other church activities. For many years she cooked Wednesday night suppers at church. She enjoyed cooking for all, especially fresh vegetables from her garden and many pans of biscuits. She and Ed always had a large garden to provide for their family and to share with others. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cross stitching. 

Pauline is survived by her sons, Eddie Vinson (Brenda) and Joel Vinson (Denise); daughter in law Carolyn Vinson; eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren and two special nephews Jerry Johnson (Paulette) and Steve Johnson (Paula). 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 225 Rocky Creek Rd. Forsyth Ga. 31029.
