It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Oscar Clyde Fountain Jr., affectionately known as "Rick", who departed this world on June 8th, 2023 in Forsyth, Georgia. He was a remarkable man who lived his life to the fullest, and his absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him.
Rick was born on September 26th, 1956, to Oscar Clyde Fountain Sr. and Dannie Fountain. He was an exceptionally hardworking man who had a passion for painting houses and always kept himself busy with work. Prior to this, he served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Air Force. He also served his community as a paramedic.
Although Rick had a strong work ethic, he also had a softer side that was most evident through his love of gospel music. His soulful voice touched the hearts of many, and his sincere compassion for his fellow man will never be forgotten. He was very faithful to his church - New Beginning Pentecostal Church. More than anything else, Rick was dedicated to his family; he cherished every moment he spent with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he loved to take fishing.
Rick is survived by many loved ones, including his mother Dannie Fountain of Forsyth, children Chelsea Brantley of Warner Robins and Cody Fountain (Candace) of Juliette; girlfriend Shelia Greene of Monticello; grandchildren Gracie, Maddie, Aaliyah, Michaela, Macy and C.J.; great-grandchildren Malia, Malani, Carmelo, Everleigh, Emma, and Jesse; brothers Randall Fountain (Dawn), Dan Fountain(Reginia) and David Fountain (Katrina); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other dear friends.
Oscar will forever be remembered for his selflessness and unwavering commitment to those around him. We take comfort in knowing that he has gone home to rest eternally in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
