Nancy Emalia Matthews

Nancy Emelia Mathews, 78, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. 

Nancy was born in Huntington, New York on June 14, 1946, to the late Joseph Mathews and Janet Stanton Mathews. She was a true animal lover and adored her dogs and cats with her whole heart. She enjoyed visiting the mountains and cherished visits with family in Florida. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Leigh Hanson of Forsyth, and Marcie Kendall (Rob) of South Jordan, Utah; grandchildren: Samantha Selman (Zachary) of Forsyth, Morgan Wheeler (David) of Winter Haven, Florida, Emiley Hanson of Forsyth, Wesley Hanson of Forsyth, Kenzie Nelson of Utah, and Kennedy Kendall of South Jordan, Utah; great-grandchildren: Jackson Selman, James Selman, Xander Payne, Aubrey Payne, and Kennedy Wheeler; and nephews, Jody Barfield, Matt Barfield, and Curt Barfield. 

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jon Fowler.
