M/Sgt. Dwight Edmond Bunn, USAF (Ret.) passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2021, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Cadwell City Cemetery, 2852 Old Eastman Road, Cadwell, Georgia 31009. Rev. Jimmy Corbitt will officiate. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing are requested.
Dwight, the son of the late Joseph Arthur Bunn and Lillian Ruth White Bunn was born March 9, 1937 in Johnstown, Nebraska. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-one years. Dwight was historian for Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California; taught journalism at Fort Benjamin Harrison base for four years; was editor of the base newspaper in Reno, Nevada; was in radio and TV in the Philippines and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Burch Bunn of Lizella; children, Joey Bunn (Carol) of Macon, Jeri Ann Wyrick (Mike) of Macon and Teri Lynn Bunn (Mindy James) of Forsyth; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
