Jay Livingston

Merrill “Jay” Livingston, 70, of Forsyth, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Monroe County Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Jay was born in Albany, Georgia to the late Merrill Lee Livingston and Marguerite Hall Livingston. He was a 1970 graduate of Deerfield Windsor School, where he played basketball and served as the senior class president. Jay earned his bachelor’s degree from Mercer University, and then earned his Physician's Assistant degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He worked for Macon Cardiovascular Surgeons for 20 years and for OrthoGeorgia for 20 years before retiring in 2019. Jay loved to play golf and had a passion for all types of music. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife and grandchildren. 

Jay is survived by his wife, Christy R. Livingston of Forsyth, three children, Michele Travoss (Shon) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Kelly Livingston (Casey Hutchins) of Chamblee, Georgia, and Meryl Kimler (Shannon) of Gray, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Ansley Travoss, Sabin Hutchins, Blaise Hutchins, Kepler Hutchins, Turner Kimler, Grayson Kimler, and Amelia Kimler; sister, Joy DeLamar (Lenny) of Albany, Georgia; and niece, Lacey Kennedy (Kyle) of Ellaville, Georgia.
