Melvin James Sampson

Melvin James “Jay” Sampson passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018.   Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Glenn Keys will officiate. Burial will be private.   The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jay was born January 2, 1978, in Lansing, Michigan. His father Melvin Kenneth Sampson preceded him in death. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Christy Sampson of Forest Park; children, Cameron Blake Sampson, Cylie Grace Sampson of Jackson and Christopher James Sampson of Forest Park; mother, Debra Sampson of Forsyth; brothers, Timothy John Sampson and Kenneth Winstead Sampson; sisters, Kayte Lee West and Tracy Ann Redmond. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
