Mary Mullis

Mary Elsie Starr Mullis, 83, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Funeral services will be private. Daughter of the late Joseph Carl Starr and Virginia Clara Gardner Starr, Mary was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 5, 1941. 

 Mary was well known for her community involvement including being past president of the Monroe County Jaycee’s and her faithful membership at Maynard Baptist Church. She was proud of her family and their history which was evident in her membership and work with the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in many leagues where she made many friends. 

Mary leaves behind her children, Richard Carl Mullis of Forsyth, and Chistopher Clay Mullis of Perry, Georgia; grandson, Christopher Michael Mullis; siblings, J.C. Starr, Virginia Funderburk, Bill Starr (Kathy), and Barbara Howell (John); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Mullis Jr.
