Mary Ilah Bishop, 90, of Stone Mountain Georgia passed away Tuesday March 19, 2024. Mary was born in Juliette Georgia to the late William and Rilla Huckabea Hill. The family will greet friends beginning 10:00 AM Saturday March 23, 2024, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel 86 West Main Street with the funeral Services following at 11:00AM in the chapel James “Irvin” Davidson will be officiating; burial will be private at East Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to East Juliette Baptist Church 183 JH Aldridge Drive Juliette Georgia 31046.
Mary was a graduate of Mary Persons high school, following high school she began a 14-year career with Bellsouth. Mary’s family was very important to her, supporting her children in all their endeavors and loved being a mom after retirement. She was a lifelong Primitive Baptist.
Mrs. Bishop leaves behind her children, Cecile Bishop, of Stone Mountain Georgia, Keith Bishop of Snellville Georgia and Greg Bishop (Charda) of Salem Alabama, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, her sisters Eva Atkins of Cartersville Georgia, and Kay Godfrey of Warner Robins Georgia, and many friends to mourn her loss.
