Martha Weldon McWhirter

Martha Alice Weldon McWhirter passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Charles Clance will officiate.   The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2018, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Martha, the daughter of the late Francis Marion Weldon Sr. and Eva Williams Weldon was born December 18, 1936, in Monroe County, Forsyth, Georgia. Her husband, Rev. Franklin E. McWhirter, her brothers, Francis M. Weldon, Jr. and Lewis Weldon and her great granddaughter, Amber Fowler preceded her in death. Martha worked at Carters, Warner Robins, Shirt Factory and retired from Henderson Middle School. Survivors include her son, Wilmer (Ronile) McWhirter, daughter, Denise (Charles) Clance; sister, Mary Reeves Fordham: grandchildren, Brandon (Tee) Clance, Sabrina Clance Fowler; Robbie (Kathryn) McWhirter, Heather McWhirter (fiancée, Stephen Vaughn); great grandchildren, Skeeter, Brandon, Jr., Katelynn, Harmony, Noah, Isabella, Denver Reese and Aspen Kate. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
