Martha Francis Flanagan

Martha Francis Flanagan, 100, of Forsyth passed away Friday December 6, 2024. A memorial service will be held at a later date. 

Martha was born to the late Walter Smith and the late Pearl Groggins Smith in Forsyth, Georgia. Martha was a lifelong member of Paren Baptist church where she taught Sunday school for many years, personally welcomed each new member as well as mailing get well cards to members who were sick. Martha loved to travel especially to Helen and the mountains of north Georgia. When not traveling Martha enjoyed gardening and listing to Gospel music. 

In addition to her parents Martha is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years, George; her youngest son, Ronnie Flanagan; and niece, Clarane Pearson.

Martha is survived by her oldest son, Bobby Flanagan, of Forsyth; grandchildren, Patrick Flanagan, of Forsyth and Amber Sweeney, of Edman, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Haley, Mila and Avery; nephew Bill Jenkins; and many friends.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel 86 West Main Street Forsyth, Georgia has charge of the arrangements.
