Maggie Elizabeth Cook, lovingly known as Grandma Maggie, passed away on March 13, 2025, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. Born on January 7, 1936, in Stewart County, she was the beloved daughter of John Luther Henson Sr. and Gladys Odell Bennett Henson.

Growing up on a farm in Stewart County, Maggie's dad affectionately called her "Toot." She enjoyed playing basketball during her school years. Upon her marriage, she became known as "Tootie Bopper." Maggie and Ben married swiftly and spent three adventurous years in California before returning to their hometown of Omaha, GA, where they raised their three children.

On October 8, 1974, she was affectionately crowned "Grandma Maggie." Throughout the years, Maggie spread joy and love to everyone around her. Her favorite occupation was Interpretive Ranger at Florence Marina State Park in Omaha, Ga. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, always seen through her eyes as flawless.

Later in life, Maggie relished shopping trips with her grandchildren and dedicated much of her time to supporting various family gatherings. A loving and wonderful woman until her final days, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Emmett Benjamin Cook, Sr., and brother, Larry Henson. Maggie is survived by her children Betty Jo Pope (Daryl), Pam Cook and Ben Cook (Debee); brother, John Henson (JoAnn); seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
