Luanne Scott Bailey

Luanne Scott Bailey, 66, of Forsyth, Georgia, was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. 

Luanne was born on June 4, 1957, in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Richard C. “Boots” Scott and Annette Meeks Scott. She proudly worked at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, where she retired after 34 years of service. 

Luanne enjoyed Bingo, crossword puzzles and cross stitch. She loved her classic TV shows, The Rifleman, Andy Griffith Show and The Love Boat. She and her friends enjoyed the “Golden Oldies” and could remember the words to most of them. She was passionate about God and her Georgia Bulldogs…GO DAWGS! 

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, JoAnna Leigh Bailey and TSgt Jessica Lynn Bailey, USAF; stepson, Christopher Levi Bailey (Zahava). She leaves behind her precious grandchildren: MaKaylah Lipscomb, Tristen Bailey, Ayden Bailey, Jaxson Bailey, Nevaeh Santamaria and Jonah Bailey. Siblings Ricky Scott (Faye), Stanley Scott and numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was a loving aunt. 

She considered the GPSTC staff as her extended family who will miss but remember her fondly. 

A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Maynard Baptist Church. Everyone is encouraged to wear red and black to the celebration. Honorary pallbearers are staff representatives from the Georgia Fire Academy.
