Martha Louise Newton Maddox passed away Friday, September 14, 2018. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Rev. Franklin Etheridge and Buck Wilder will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Louise, the daughter of the late Charles Leo Newton, Sr. and Jewel Bryant Newton was born on November 20, 1936 in Forsyth, Georgia. Her husband, Wilbur Eugene “Tag” Maddox Sr. and her great grandson Dalton Earl Haas preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Mary Persons High School. Louise and Wilbur (Tag) retired from Maddox’s Green House and Antiques which they owned and operated for many years. Louise was the Founder of Rum Creek Quilters. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Bunn, Gene Maddox, Mary Gibson (Stan) and Martha Speir, all of Juliette; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Dottie Newton of Forsyth; and brother, Raymond Newton (Gwin) of Forsyth.
