Larry Wendell Cole

Larry Wendell Cole Sr., 83, passed away Sunday June 2, 2024. Larry was born August 13, 1940, in Alma Georgia to the late Norman and Eula Cole. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Thursday June 6, 2024, at Gillionville Baptist Church fellowship hall, 4614 Gillionville Road, Albany, Georgia.
After graduating from Georgia Southern, he went to work at The Marine Corps Logistics Base as a Labor Relations Mediator retiring after 30 years of faithful service. When not working, he loved gardening, taking long walks several times a week, and researching his family history. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan but enjoyed most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his son, Dell Cole Jr, (Michelle) of Juliette; daughter, Wendy Alpert (Gary) of Woodstock, Georgia; three grandchildren: Jacie, Carter, and Cason Cole; his sister, Norma Mims (Mayo) of Alma; nephew, Rusty Mims; and niece, Nancy Mims.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Kitty Cole; and brother, Joey Cole.
