Kenneth Wayne Crook, 71, of Forsyth, GA, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Reverend Keith Harris officiating. The family will greet friends Friday, June 2, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Born on August 17, 1951, in Thomaston, GA, Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a man's man, known for his love of hunting, fishing, and being able to repair anything rather than buying something new. Kenneth was a loving, wise, and handy individual who instilled strong values in his children and emphasized the importance of education.
Kenneth was the beloved husband of Debbie Davis Crook for 39 years. Together, they raised a beautiful family that included their children, Veronica Brown (Kevin) of Orlando, FL, Melissa Crook of Forsyth, Robert Davis of Forsyth, and Joshua Crook (Travis) of McDonough, GA. He was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kenneth is also survived by his sister, Mary Martin of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Karonie Crook and Bernice Wynn Crook Boyer; daughter, Regina Shelly Crook; and siblings, Randall Crook, James Bonnell Crook, Barbara Jean Crook, Elton Ray Crook, and Karl Donnie Crook.
Kenneth's work history and association involvement were diverse and impressive. He began his career as a truck driver before joining the family brick mason business alongside his father and brother. Later, he worked as a forklift driver for Pallet One for over 20 years before finally retiring. Kenneth also served his country in the United States Army 3rd Armored Division from 1968 until being honorably discharged in 1974.
As a father, Kenneth was stern but fair. He never hesitated to share his wisdom and life experiences with his children, ensuring they understood the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance. He was a loving and supportive presence in their lives, always there to offer a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.
In his later years, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a proud and loving grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with them. His love and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory, however, will live on in the values he instilled in his children and the love he shared with everyone he met. As we remember Kenneth Wayne Crook, let us celebrate his life and honor the man he was: a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Rest in peace, Kenneth. Your memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know and love you.
