Joseph Deiley

Joseph Allen Deiley, 76, of Culloden, GA, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023.  A memorial service will be held 11: 00 am Saturday July 29, 2023, at Russellville Baptist Church; The family will greet friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Russellville Baptist Church, 111 Russellville Rd, Forsyth, GA 31029.

Born in Springfield, Missouri, Joseph was a man of great character, known for his kindness, integrity, and dedication to his family and country. He grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma graduating from Star Spencer before dedicating a portion of his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force. His time in the service not only shaped him into the disciplined man he was but also instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and respect for his country.

Joseph later worked as an EMT, a dispatcher for Forsyth Police Department, and as a firefighter at Station 9 at the Russellville station for several years.  He also worked as an electronic mechanic at Robins Air Force Base.

His devotion extended beyond his career, finding a spiritual home at Russellville Baptist Church. Joseph was a regular fixture in the church, not just as a member, but also as a vital part of the team that managed the audio during services. His tireless efforts ensured that every sermon, hymn, and prayer was heard clearly, enriching the worship experience for all.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elaine McKinley Deiley of Culloden; son, David Allen Deiley of Culloden; daughter, Jan Deiley Iris (Carl Ralph) of Forsyth, Georgia; granddaughter, Jennifer Sylvia Irish; mother-in-law, Ann McKinley; brother-in-law, Harry C. McKinely of Culloden; nephew, Thomas C. McKinley of Culloden; great nephew, William Crawford McKinley of Culloden; great niece, Siera E. McKinley of Culloden; and several cousins.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Carrol Joe and Letta Jeannie Myers Deiley.
