John Ray Rader, Sr.

John Ray Rader Sr., 93, of Macon, Ga passed away Tuesday 11/8/2022 at a local hospital surrounded by his family.  John was born in Marion NC son of the late Alvin C. Rader and Anna Bell Rader.  He attended School in Marion, NC and attended Bethany Baptist Church in Macon, GA.   

John was the husband of Emily Rader and worked and retired from Southern Railway where he transferred with his job from North Carolina to Macon, Ga from 1964-1986.   After retirement John and Emily moved back home to North Carolina.  After the loss of his wife, Emily he moved back to Macon, GA to live with his son Jeff Rader.  John was preceded in death by his wife Emily Jean Towson Rader his three sons, John R. Rader Jr, Robert C. Rader, and Michael A. Rader.

John is survived by his son Jeffrey (Luanne) Rader of Macon, GA: daughter in law Gayle Rader, and Rita Taylor. Grandchildren Lance Rader, Allison Blomquist, Josh Rader, Nicholas Rader, Kent Rader, John Rader III, Lacey Arrowood, Marlee Brook, and numerous Great-Grandchildren.

Service:  There will be a Funeral Service, Saturday 11/12/2022 at 12:00pm with visitation at 11:00am at Bethany Baptist Church in Bolingbroke, GA.  Conducted by Rev. Jimmy Corbitt.  Graveside services will be held Sunday 11/13/2022 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00pm to 1:15pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell, NC with interment at Rowan Memorial Park, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 365 Pea Ridge Road, Juliette, GA 31046.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
