On Tuesday July 5th, 2022 John Howard Murdock, father of Sharon and David Murdock, passed away at the age of 75. The memorial service will be held on Monday, July 11th at Monroe County Memorial Chapel at 11:00 am.
John was born on January 9, 1947 to Joseph and Mary Murdock of Hopedale, Ohio. He received his accounting degree from Miami University in 1969 and his MBA from Xavier University in 1973. John served in the United States Airforce from 1969 to 1972. John worked as a CPA for Charter Medical Corp for over 20 years and later formed his own consulting company, MAS. John was an avid Braves fan and held season tickets for 30 years. John shared his love of baseball with his son and grandsons and would often attend games with them. He took his daughter and granddaughters to 4th of July games to see the fireworks. John was known for his generosity and love of sports. John was a long time regular at The Grey Goose Players Club in Macon, where he loved to spend time with the community of friends he had there.
John is preceded by Joseph and Mary Murdock as well as his grandson Dustin Murdock who passed in May of this year. He is survived by his son David Murdock, his daughter Sharon Murdock, his brothers Bob Murdock and James Murdock, his sister Joanne Murdock Stives and his grandchildren: Devin Murdock, Daniel Murdock, Isabel Munson, Abigail Munson, Madeline Munson and Lydia Munson.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
