John Thomas Mitchell IV

September 18, 1973 — February 26, 2025

Forsyth

John Thomas Mitchell IV, of Forsyth, GA, passed away on February 26, 2025. A devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle, coach, and friend, John’s presence was a constant source of strength and kindness to those who knew him.

John was the proud owner of Hapeville Radiator Auto Air, a successful business that he built with hard work and dedication. His greatest accomplishments, however, were his loving family and the life he created for them. A man of integrity and generosity, John was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back—someone you could always count on to get things done, no matter the challenge.

John had a deep love for Georgia football, rarely missing a home game and traveling to support the Dawgs on the road whenever he could. He found joy in riding his Harley, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to his favorite destinations, St. Thomas and St. George.

He leaves behind his parents, John and Charlotte Mitchell; his wife of 25 years, Shannon; and his children, Chandler, Caleb, Carter, and Cooper. He is also survived by his brother, Scott, and his wife, Brooke, along with their children, Ellison, Asher, and Remi. John was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Mitchell, whom he loved dearly and is now reunited with.

John’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and unwavering support. He was a man who believed in showing up for others, in lending a helping hand, and in making sure those around him felt valued and cared for. His impact will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM at Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Road, Milner, GA 30257. The service will be officiated by Pastor Trey Varner.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Caring for a Cause, a meaningful organization that reflects John’s generous spirit and commitment to helping others.

Rest easy, John. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
