Jennie Dodd

Martha Virginia Murray (Jennie) Dodd, 66, of Forsyth, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2021. She lived a life dedicated to her marriage, family, and helping others.

Jennie was born on May 2, 1955 in Forsyth to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bittick Murray, Sr.  She was a graduate of Mary Persons High School Class of 1973. She worked side by side with her husband as owners of Dodd Builders Supply for 43 years. She was also very involved with many community activities around Forsyth. For over 20 years, she volunteered at Monroe Academy, helping with academics, athletics, and fundraising, as well as coordinating and organizing various events. She was a dedicated member of the WISE Investment Club. She was very talented with computer graphic design and, for many years, helped create programs for the Saddle Club’s Annual Rodeo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth all her life.

Jennie is survived by her husband of 47 years: Michael Ernest (Mike) Dodd, Sr. of Forsyth, GA; three sons: Ernie Dodd of McFarland, WI, Jon Eric Dodd of Macon, GA, and Corbin (Tara) Dodd of Forsyth, GA; one brother: Jack B (Valerie) Murray, Jr. of Houston, TX; two sisters: Betty (Brent) Green of St. Mary’s, GA, Nelle Ivey of Forsyth, GA; one brother-in-law: Larry Dodd of Lavonia, GA; 4 sisters-in-law: Ann (James) Hayes of Clarkesville, GA, Donna (Ronnie) Brady of Toccoa, GA, Renee (Alan) Ware of Toccoa, GA, Melinda (Barry) Adams of Toccoa, GA. She was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Iris Mallory-Dodd and Bea Mallory-Dodd of McFarland, WI; Matthew Dodd and Andrew Dodd of Macon, GA, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Forsyth City Cemetery. Rev. Glenn Gregg will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately after the services. Masks are encouraged.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Dodd, Matthew Dodd, Chris Ivey, Jay Ivey, Brad Jones, John Jones, and Sam Jones.
