Jason Robert Schmidt

Mr. Jason Robert Schmidt, 50, of Forsyth, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024. Jason was raised in Clayton and Henry County and was a 1992 graduate of Henry County High School. He attended Southern Polytechnic State University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Jason would later put his engineering education to good use during his tenured career at Atlanta Pipe and then at D&G Boring Inc. Jason met his future wife, Denise, in high school, reconnected twenty years later, and they were married November 22, 2012, on Thanksgiving Day. Jason was a hard-core fan of University of Georgia football, loved all kinds of music, enjoyed grilling outdoors and took great pride in keeping his yard meticulous. He treasured the times he was able to spend with his children, family, friends and his dogs (Sadie and Dudley). More than anything, he especially loved spending time with his wife, Denise, whom he dearly loved.

Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Schmidt; daughters, Erin Nicole Schmidt and Delana Rae Schmidt of Woodstock, Georgia; Sarah Elizabeth Carothers of Forsyth; and son, Michael Leland Carothers of Wilmington, North Carolina; mother, Debbie (Ludford) Meehan of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Michelle (Jason) Whatley of McDonough, Georgia; aunt, Jodi (Bobby) Teeter of Columbia, South Carolina; uncle, Ricky Hall of McDonough; aunt, Becky Hall Brown of Queen Creek, Arizona; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
