Janet E. Bryant

Janet E. Bryant, 80, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Chapel of Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2617 Vinson Highway SE, Milledgeville Georgia, 31061. 

Janet was born in Unadilla, Georgia on January 28, 1943, to the late Sadie Louise Whitaker. She and her family moved to Hawkinsville in 1980 and opened Lee’s Pawn and Snack Shop.  

Janet was known for her love of animals, artistic talent, and gentle heart. Throughout her life, she had a passion for animals, especially horses and cats.  She was a gifted painter, her stunning works adding color and vibrancy to her life and to those fortunate enough to have witnessed her talent. Her artwork was a testament to her ability to find and share beauty in the world. Janet was also an avid golfer, traveling with her husband to many courses throughout the state.  

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her son, Christopher Lee Bryant of Forsyth, Georgia, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bryant of Forsyth, Georgia; son, Adam Ashley Bryant of Warner Robins, Georgia; daughter, Sherry Lee Bryant (Donnie Ivey) of Forsyth, Georgia; grandchildren: Jacinda Bryant, Dusty Bryant (Lindsey), Christopher Lee Bryant, Jr., Cole Bryant, Rebekah Bryant, Joseph Bryant, Morgan Louise Walters (Jimmy), and Preston Cook (Ciara); and great grandchildren: Chelsea Bryant, Trey Bryant, Reese Bryant, Max Bryant,  Remington Douglas Cook, Avery Walters, Kara Walters, and Summer Walters. 

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Lee Bryant.
