James Alvin Pritchett

Mr. James Alvin Pritchett, 90, of Juliette, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024. Born September 23, 1933, the youngest of 8 children to the late William Rhodum Pritchett and Mattie Lee Smith Pritchett in Juliette, Georgia. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2024, at East Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at East Juliette Baptist Church, 187 J.H. Aldridge Drive in Juliette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the East Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery fund. 

 Alvin graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1950. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served in the Korean War, then later the US Air Force, where he was trained as an electronics technician. Following his military career, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 37 years in Warner Robins, Valdosta, and Ashburn.  

In addition to his parents, Alvin is preceded in death by his seven siblings.  

 Alvin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Pritchett of Juliette; two daughters, Lisa Pritchett (Harris Sheinman) of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Maria Pritchett Rogers (Rodney) of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, Samuel Pritchett Sheinman (Erin Griffin) of Woodstock, Georgia, Marc Pritchett Sheinman (Laura Duffy) of State College, Pennsylvania, and Wyatt Rogers of Savannah, Georgia.

The family would like to thank his niece, Trudy Gordon, for the care she gave to Alvin in his last months.
