James Smith Pettigrew

James “Jimmy” Smith Pettigrew passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Services and burial will be private.   The family will greet friends at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Paran Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 5691 GA Hwy 42 North, Forsyth, GA 31029. Jimmy, the son of the late John Olin Pettigrew and Bell Smith Pettigrew was born September 6, 1939, in Jackson, Georgia. His sister, Ann Pettigrew Wade and his brother, John Olin Pettigrew preceded him in death. He was retired from the National Resource Conservation Service and also raised cattle. Mr. Pettigrew was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Judy Pettigrew of Forsyth; son, Dr. Justin Evans Pettigrew of Roswell; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Paran Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5691 GA Hwy 42 North, Forsyth, GA 31029. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
