Herbert Lee Mercer

April 12, 1929 — February 10, 2020

Herbert Lee Mercer passed away Monday, February 10, 2020.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at New Beginning Pentecostal Church with burial in Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Mark Goolsby and Rev. Cody Fountain will officiate.  The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.

Herbert Lee, the son of the late L. C. Mercer and Annie Lou Pritchett Mercer was born April 12, 1929, in Juliette.  His wife, Clara Mae Newberry Mercer, his daughter, Nora Mercer, his son, David Mercer and his step-son, Brantley Langston preceded him in death. He was retired from the Monroe County Road Department and was a member of New Beginning Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his children, Cathy (Jack) Adams of Forsyth and Angie (Mike) Moore of Juliette; sister, Florence Bohannon of Forsyth; brother, Chester Mercer of Myrtle Beach, SC; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
