Harold W. Maddox passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Forsyth with burial in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends the day of the service at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Forsyth. Mr. Maddox, the son of the late William Riley Maddox, Sr. and Clyde Elizabeth Blankenship Maddox was born August 1, 1927, in Forsyth, Georgia. He was retired from Bibb Company and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. Mr. Maddox was an artist, a member of Monroe County Arts Alliance, a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth, a Mason with Strict Observance # 18 and a former Jaycee member. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Bishop Maddox of Forsyth; children, Connie Page of Greenville, South Carolina and Susan (Kim) Brock of Juliette; grandchildren, Michael (Sandra) Peavey of Greenville, South Carolina, Amy Peavey (Mike) Musick of Whitesburg, Matthew Lee Watson of Norfolk, Virginia; three great grandchildren, Riley Peavey, Sydney and Brandon Musick. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, c/o First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of local arrangements.
