Ms. Gwynda Burson, 85, of Forsyth, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Memorial services will be at Paran Baptist Church Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00PM with the Reverend Greg Hazelwood officiating. Inurnment at Paran Baptist Church Cemetery will follow at a later date. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
Born on December 7, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama, Gwynda's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her throughout her 85 years of life.
Gwynda's career took flight when she joined Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant, a role that allowed her to explore the world and connect with people from all walks of life.
After her years in the skies, Gwynda transitioned to a successful career in real estate, where she became a respected agent with Mock Realty in the 1980s. Her intelligence and loving nature made her a trusted advisor to many families as they navigated the important journey of finding their homes. Gwynda's dedication to her clients was matched only by her commitment to her community. Later she worked for Walmart where she met many wonderful people and made many friends.
A devout and active member of Paran Baptist Church, Gwynda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She served her church with the same passion she brought to every endeavor, offering her time and talents in various capacities over the years. Her church family will remember her as a guiding light, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand.
Ms. Burson is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Burson; sons, Jerry Burson, Bobby Burson, and Ken Burson; and siblings, Nan Holley and her husband, Ken Holley, and Cathy Beck. She is survived by her son, Steve Burson (Brooke) of Conyers, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jimmy Burson, Nikki Dayton, Alana Pons (C.J.), Crissy McLendon (Kelly), Adam Burson, and Ryan Burson; great-grandchildren, Sean Burson, Seth Burson, Chris Burson, Michael Dayton, Olivia Dayton, Bella Dayton, Nix Dayton, Emery Dayton, E.J. McLendon and Gavin Pons; brother, Alan Street (Ginny) of Warner Robins, Georgia; brother-in-law, Louis Beck of Niceville, Florida; and six nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paran Baptist Church, 5691 GA Highway 42 North, Forsyth, GA 31029.
