Gwen Griffin

Gwen A. “GiGi” Griffin, 68, of Forsyth, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, October 7, 2024. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00AM at the chapel of Hart’s the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210. The Reverend Ronnie Wills will be officiating. The family will greet friends Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth. 

Gwen was born July 24, 1956, to the late James, Sr. and Mary Asbell in Macon, Georgia. She was an amazing pianist, and over the years she played for several churches in the region. Gwen was affectionately known as GiGi by all her family and friends and was happiest when they were all together. 

Gwen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gary Griffin of Forsyth; daughter, Jennifer Drury (Dow) of Bluffton, South Carolina; daughter, Amanda Grant (Cason) of Forsyth; son, Drew Griffin (Morgan); Jamie Ritchie (Chaz) of Forsyth; grandchildren, Gracyn, Emma, Maggie, Hayes, Carter, Marshall, Cooper, Kyle, Ava Kate, Olivia, Penelope, and Wynn; sister, Renay Bailey (Bill) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sister, Theresa Greene (Jim) of Blairsville, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
