Gloria J. Nix, age 81, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on March 10, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and aunt who cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Tommy Nix (Karen) of Sardis, Bill Nix (Tammy) of Baxley, and Allen Nix (Alicia) of Evans; special friend, Jimmy Juhan; grandchildren, Bryan Nix, Hank Nix, Meagan Cavanaugh (Brian), Kate Nix, Rachel Nix, and Chris Nix (Brittney); great-grandchildren, Julian Thomas Cavanaugh and Colton Adam Nix; step-grandson, Aiden Cavanaugh; sister-in-law, Jeannie Johnson; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rolfe H. Johnson; mother, Nannie Kate Grant Johnson; siblings, Barnelle Johnson, Janie Ruth Stewart, Dottie Marshall Hearn, Evelyn Johnson, Bill Johnson, Imogene Vincent, Merle Giddens, and David Johnson.
Gloria graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1961 and went on to have a fulfilling career as a School Bus Driver and Optician. She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church and enjoyed hobbies such as reading, crossword puzzles, and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the chapel of Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial at Forsyth City Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
