Gertrude Standridge Akins

Gertrude Standridge Akins passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her residence in Jackson, Georgia.  Funeral services will be held at 11:30a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church of High Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Akins was born October 8, 1930 in Walhalla, South Carolina to the late George Standridge and Mertie Lee Standridge.  Her husband, Charles Ervie Akins preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of High Falls.

Mrs. Akins is survived by her children, Teresa Akins of Jonesboro, Charles L. Akins (Donna) of Toccoa and Susan Denese Akins (Fielder) of Florida; sister, Lucille Martin; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Franklin Graham’s Ministry, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC  28201.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
