Gerry Monroe Elliott

Gerry Monroe Elliott passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Mark Goolsby will officiate.  The family will greet friends the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Gerry, the son of the late Franklin Monroe Elliott and Clora Della Cox Elliott was born January 25, 1943, in Flatwoods, Kentucky. He was a volunteer fireman, was involved with the Special Olympics, loved to cook and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Janice Elliott; children, Stephanie E. Berry (David) and Sharon Weldon (John Brown) of Forsyth; sister, Debbie Vaught of Alabama; brothers, Bill Elliott (Kathi) of Americus and Ricky Elliott (Teri) of Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Berry, Justin Berry (Erin), Whitney Smith (John), Kayla Pierce (Dallas) and Macy Weldon: five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions to the family for the expenses. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
