Gerda Barton

Gerda Barton, 83, of Macon passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Gerda was born on March 16, 1939, in Nurnberg, Germany where she met and married her husband, Albert Junior Barton while he was stationed in the Army. They were married for over 59 years until his death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Franz and Betty Glaser, and stepfather, Theo Hald.

She is survived by her three sons, Charlie (Gail) Barton of Forsyth, GA, Wayne (Gina) Barton of Petersburg, VA, and Ronnie Barton of Roberta, GA, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and niece, Jeanie Broadaway.

Her wishes were for cremation, without public viewing or memorial. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
